Probably shortened from “freakazoid”. A player who performed well in a small sample size who ends up being used in a much more substantial role in the IBL than in real life.

Examples include:

In 1995 Todd Haney hit .411/.462/.603 in limited playing time for the Cubs. His card had no outs vs LHP and he was used to devastating effect as a pinch hitter during the 1996 season.
