As a general rule will only enter in 8th/9th with POR winning by 4 or less. Don't want him wasting innings. **STL Sanchez also not a guy to use unnecessarily with usage innings. **Try to get COL Young at least 4 PAs per game before PH'ing for him (if you need to if game is close and I8+). **Consider bunting for a hit with COL Young once a game (see bunt section). However his usage and PAs are more important than sacrifices. **I have tried to change MIS to consider hit n run before steal. **Damon and Betancourt are new additions this week, they are not prevalent in MIS but consider as bench options/PH if need be. **Furbush starting g2 over Estrada, which means Estrada available out of pen. Billingsley is also, his max is 2 IP per relief outing. Usually only will pitch 9th, but some exceptions can be made to pitch 2 innings if need be. Can use in extra innings if tied/out of other options. BULLPEN * REMOVE relievers when fatigued. * REMOVE relievers based on better matchups (see note below). * REMOVE relievers to try to keep them available for next game (typically 1.0 or 1.2 for short, 1.0 or 2.0 for middle), unless they will miss next game anyway. Please use best judgment - see below on other notes and off days/extra innings. * Here are some notes on the bullpen and RP roles: DET Alburquerque - will only pitch in 8th/9th innings when POR is up by four or less (see above) STL Sanchez - typically also only to be used if game is close * Check the appropriate situation in the below chart and substitute in the first available pitcher listed (not all pitchers are necessarily active). * "2 of 3" refers to the side of the plate that the next three batters hit from. * If one is a LH, one is a RH, and one is a SH, consider it to be a SH situation. ***NOTE***: Use the RP that should give POR the best matchup (typically what you wouldn't want to see vs your team). Once the game is I7+, the best matchups for POR should be used, and RPs can be removed even if they're not fatigued. The best matchups can typically be found by re-checking the situation column and the 2 of 3 column after every batter. Also, take into account a reverse split for a batter if applicable. &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& Situation 2 of 3 Pitchers (I1-5,-4:L) All Furbush, #Rodriguez, #Wilson, Estrada, Ramirez, Ziegler (I1-5,-3:W) All #Rodriguez, Estrada, Ramirez, #Wilson, Furbush, Ziegler (I6,-3:4) LH Lopez, #Choate, #Rodriguez, #Wilson, Ramirez, Sanchez, Estrada, Ziegler (I6,-3:4) RH #Rodriguez, #Wilson, Ziegler, Ramirez, Sanchez, Estrada, Lopez, #Choate (I6,-3:4) SH #Rodriguez, #Wilson, Ramirez, Sanchez, Estrada, Ziegler, Lopez, #Choate (I6,Else) All #Rodriguez, #Wilson, Ziegler, Furbush, Ramirez, Estrada, #Choate (I7,-3:4) LH Lopez, #Choate, Ramirez, Sanchez, #Wilson, Estrada, #Rodriguez, Alburquerque, Ziegler (I7,-3:4) RH Sanchez, Ziegler, Ramirez, Estrada, #Rodriguez, #Wilson, Alburquerque, Lopez, #Choate (I7,-3:4) SH Sanchez, Ramirez, #Wilson, Estrada, #Rodriguez, Ziegler, Alburquerque, Lopez, #Choate (I7,Else) All #Rodriguez, #Wilson, Ziegler, Furbush, Ramirez, Estrada, Lopez, #Choate (I8,-3:4) LH Lopez, #Choate, Sanchez, Ramirez, Alburquerque, Estrada, #Rodriguez, #Wilson, Ziegler (I8,-3:4) RH Sanchez, Ramirez, Ziegler, Alburquerque, Lopez, Estrada, #Rodriguez, #Wilson, #Choate (I8,-3:4) SH Sanchez, Ramirez, Alburquerque, #Wilson, Lopez, Estrada, Ziegler, #Rodriguez, #Choate (I8,Else) All #Rodriguez, #Wilson, Ziegler, Furbush, Ramirez, Estrada, Lopez, #Choate (I9+,0:4) LH Alburquerque, Lopez, #Choate, Sanchez, Ramirez, #Wilson, #Rodriguez, Estrada, Ziegler (I9+,0:4) RH Alburquerque, Sanchez, Ramirez, Ziegler, #Wilson, #Rodriguez, Lopez, Estrada, Choate (I9+,0:4) SH Alburquerque, Sanchez, Ramirez, Ziegler, #Wilson, #Rodriguez, Lopez, Estrada, Choate (I9+,Else) All #Rodriguez, #Wilson, Ziegler, Ramirez, Furbush, Estrada, Lopez, OFF DAYS * For games before an off day, relievers may be stretched out longer.
