2024 AC WILD CARD SERIES
The Buffalo Raptors prevailed 3 games to 1 over the South Florida
Flamingos with close margins in the three victories. Aaron Hicks
homered in each win to lead the way with three dingers, including lead
off home runs in Game 2 and Game 4. Thanks to Jed for a close series.

Game 1
The Raptors rallied back from multiple deficits to take Game 1
including a rally in the bottom of the 9th. After Hicks tied the game
with a solo homer in the 7th, the Flamingos grabbed the lead back with
a 2 out rally in the next frame. Buffalo pulled back within a run on a
pinch-hit solo blast from Tommy Pham leading off the bottom of the
9th. The Raptors then mounted a 2 out rally with Christian Walker
tying the game with a hit followed by a game-winning walkoff knock by
Bobby Witt Jr. to grab the series lead in front of the home crowd.

Aaron Hicks led off the bottom of the 1st with a homer (one of only
two Buffalo hits) which proved to the game's only run. Gavin Williams
earned the win as he combined with five Raptors relievers to keep the
Flamingos off the board (with the tying run in scoring position in the
9th) and take a 2-0 series lead.

Game 3
The series continued to favor the home team as it shifted to south
Florida. The Flamingos jumped out to a big early lead via a six-run
first. A Witt homer in the 4th would pull Buffalo within two until
South Florida answered back in the bottom half with four more runs.
The home side was led by the bottom of the order and drew 8 walks as
Tanner Bibee got the win to make the series 2-1.

Game 4
Hicks started the game with another leadoff blast and Randal Grichuk
capped the inning with a three-run shot for an early 4-0 lead in the
first. The only run to follow was a Mookie Betts solo homer for the
Flamingos in the 5th, as both pitching staffs limited the offense. The
Raptors would close it out for their first playoff series win since
their last postseason appearance in 2019 and first as Buffalo.
