+For the second time in the AC Wild Card Series, the Riptide bats came out hammering
+as they knocked out Devil starting pitcher James Shields in the third inning and
+rapped 17 hits en route to an 11-1 win.
+The Riptide scored in every inning except the second and eighth. They blew the game
+open with a four-run third inning. Anthony Rendon, Joe Panik and Edwin Encarnacion
+led off the winning with back-to-back-to-back doubles. After Matt Holliday walked,
+Josh Reddick hit another double for New Jersey. Angel Pagan, Rendon and Encarnacion
+also homered in the game. Jeff Samardzija was solid on the mound for the Riptide,
+allowing just one run on seven hits and one walk while striking out nine in 8 2/3

+NJR is up 2-1 in the series and will try to close out their first playoff series
