The ACCS is tied 2-2 following what has to be 3 of the 4 craziest games of all time. Gm 1: POR take a 2-0 lead in the top of the first off Scherzer with a Ozuna HR. WMS battles back tagging Tanaka with 8 BR is 2.0+ and taking a 3-1 lead. POR scrapes one more back before another batter card 3 run HR off Scherzer by Cruz sends POR to a 6-3 lead. WMS continues to get BRs at an amazing clips and battles back to tie the game at 6 in the 7th. POR battles back to take the lead once again 7-6 in the t8. In the bottom of the 9th, following a Flores single, Jacoby Ellsbury hits a park 3b to tie the game at 7 and put the walk off run at 3rd with one out. A Mauer walk put Realmuto up who hammered a ball to the drawn in Asdrubal Cabrera, who snagged the hot shot to keep the game going. Bryce Harper then following with another hard grounder to send the game to extras. In the top of the 10th, HOU Gurriel hits a HR off Matt Albers to send POR up 9-7 which ended up being the final. WMS scatters 24 baserunners over 10 innings, including 19 hits (16 1b, 2 2b, 1 3b) and leaves 15 men on base. Gm 2: The one “normal” game of the series so far. CLE Kluber is dominant and pitches 8.2 IP of 1-run ball and makes a 3 run WMS 5th hold up. Final score: WMS 3 - POR 0 Gm 3: WMS opens up a 5-1 lead on POR thanks to Harper and Moustakas HRs. In the 6th, POR comes alive and scores 8 runs in the course of 11 batters capped off by a Thames grand slam off Bryan “Mr Ground Ball” Shaw. WMS battles back to with in two and then in the bottom of the 8th, have runners on 2nd and 3rd with 0 outs when Bryce Harper hits a laser shot to short which for a second looked like it would tie the game, but is snagged by Asdrubal Cabrera for a game saving DP and preserves a 9-7 win for POR Gm 4: POR send Tanaka back to the bump after a shaky gm1 outing against Luke Weaver. Tanaka was pure gold and Weaver got tagged for a 2 run HR by Gurriel on the second batter of the game, but settles in after that to pitch 6 strong only giving up the 2 runs. WMS’s offense could do nothing until the bottom of the 9th, when Aaron Altherr hits a 3 run jack off Ryan Madson to cap a 4 run inning. Matt Albers closed out the bottom of the 9th for a 4-2 WMS win. WMS sends Max Scherzer to the hill in game 5 against either Ivan Nova or Marco Estrada on short rest for POR.
